This years Strummercamp has been moved from Manchester Rugby Club, home of the last two years, to a new venue, Macclesfield Rugby Club.

The festival has grown to such an extent, that the facilities on offer at the new venue, offer the best prospects for it's continued success. Spread over a vast site, Macclesfield Rugby Club has excellent facilities, both for Strummercamp, and it's guests.

We are confident that the site move will provide the impetus for future success, and will start a new history in the fledgling life of the annual festival tribute to Joe Strummer. With the new infrastructure now in place, the stage is set for a bigger and better Strummercamp, and we look forward to meeting all you fellow Strummercampers from all over the world!

We would like to thank everyone at Manchester Rugby Club for their input in getting Strummercamp up and running, and for their loyal support over the last 2 years.

Meeting Joe Strummer

Huw Higginson and Steve North, the men behind the well observed play about Joe Strummer, have been booked to appear at this years Strummercamp. Presenting the play in a festival atmosphere will present the pair with a unique challenge, but both are confident that the play will be a huge success and they look forward to being warmly welcomed by the festival crowd.

Out of Control

In keeping with the Macclesfield theme, Strummercamp will this year welcome the outstanding Joy Division tribute band, Transmission. Macclesfield was home to the legendary Ian Curtis, and it seems a logical and fitting tribute to him that Transmission should take to the Strummercamp main stage.
